So I got this thing in the mail today that was from some national youth leadership council that said my school had nominated me to attend the national young leaders conference which is like a 6 day thing in DC. The packet that came said that they have some important speakers there like Al Gore and Colin Powell, and it included a list of people from my school that have gone in the past and they were pretty bright people (one I know went to Princeton), but I really have never heard of this before so I am wondering if this is actually prestigous or just a scam to make money?

The latter.

I got one too o.O

I’m not interested in anything about govt for my future career, so I really just set it aside.

Anyways, I was wondering this too…

I get at least five of these every month. young leaders, young congressmen, whatever. It’s a huge waste of time and money.

it’s a huge waste. for the same amt of money per week, you can get 5-6 college credits at real schools !

It’s a scam. Legit programs that will actually help you are free.

I get these all the time. They are scams.

yeah i have gotten these too… they sound so great and all but the really are just scams.

it’s so sad how they scam kids and their parents, but yeah, nylc is wack fosho.
