National Youth Leadership Forums? + or-

My daughter was nominated to apply for the NYFL in Medicine. Is this a prestigious organization or just another thinly veiled "leadership" company that costs a bunch of money? Is it impressive to have done this for admissions committees to see on your resume?
Thanks

its not really prestigious, its quite common to get and i wouldnt do it to further one's application but rather just to go because u have an interest in medicine. it does cost a lot of money and i dont think colleges really care, but if you're looking for the experience it offers then theres no problem w ith that

almost everyone I know got nominated AND made it in if they were willing to pay.

Don't think it's very prestigious, but my friend went for Medicine, and he really enjoyed his experience.

i have wondered the same thing. i think it just all really depends. like it you plan on doing something with premed, take a lot of science classes (bio and anatomy), then yes this will give you that extra boost because it shows that you are serious and have interest in your intended field.

i hope that makes sense

Best two weeks of my life. It's been two years and I'm still very close with many of the friends I made. Don't let it pass. I put it on my apps but I didn't go for that.

It's not that impressive on an application.

If you want application filler, don't. If you're genuinely interested in what the field you are pursuing looks like, or want to meet new people, then go for it.
