Natural Sciences at Whitman?

Although Whitman seems to have earned its place as a liberal arts college, subjects like Math and Physics do not appear to have any takers. Consequently, 3-2 programs offered by the college must be kind of non-starters. This is what is bothering me since I want to pursue 3-2 in Engineering. Anybody has more information on this?

You can see the number of graduates by major and minor at the link below. Math and Physics have graduates both as minor and majors and the departments are not among the smallest at Whitman. Many other majors must take math and physics classes so the departments teach more than just majors.

The best person to ask questions about 3-2 programs is Bob Fontenot, the advisor for these programs.

My daughter was considering a 3/2 program, but went with a straight science major. She has trouble figuring out how to fit all the science classes she wants to take into 4 years. So plenty of classes are offered. The math classes she has had at Whitman have been of very high caliber (My husband and I were math majors undergraduate and were impressed with the rigor).
