Naval Academy Application Ethnicty Section

I'm applying to the naval academy and there's a section on the application that asks me to briefly explain my ethnic/racial heritage. I realize that this section is a simply a tool for the admissions officers who want to diversify the student body. Problem is, I'm a white American with the usual heritage story: all of my ancestors immigrated from various parts of Europe, one side making the journey at the turn of the century, the other during the pre-Civil War Era, so this section of the application won't help me in any way.

I'm required to fill it out, should I just put "(European) American", or name each country my family came from and when?

Your heritage story is not unique in the context of many Americans. as a matter of fact, that describes a huge percentage of Caucasians in the USA. Don’t you know that?

Your ethnicity? Caucasian.

You can leave it blank, write European-American or White. It won’t matter.
