[quote[/C chem major for pre-med and she told me that there were only 24 people left in the major and there would probably be 20 spots open for med school, that's not bad.

Be careful - there are other majors who will also try for premed - know one one in Areo Engineering and one in systems.

You also have to be admitted to Med School independently of USNA - USNA will not get you into Med School so your grades will have to compete with all of the Civilian kids applying to med school, and the the Military Med School you will compete with all the other Academies and ROTC.

just a quick note to all those appointed, i got an e-mail from admissions saying that we should disregard the dental exam part of the packet. we will get x rays as a part of plebe summer. of course i got this e-mail a week after getting the x-rays done lol.

^^^^ Welcome to all things Academy where you best not ever make plans too far in advance as requirement is likely to change - sometimes more than once.

Referred to in the parent circles as Semper Gumpy!

Got the good ol' blue folder yesterday, even though it should have come months ago. I had had everything done by October, but I could never get my gym teacher to administer the CFA. I finally did it a few weeks ago w/ my BGO. I received an LOA a while back, but needless to say it was better get the real thing. I am psyched for plebe summer and the whole experience! I am a girl and was recruited for swimming and can't wait to don blue and gold next fall!

hey congrats everybody.... im still waiting on my appointment...just curious but what districts are you from in pennsylvania aznarkarus and schwimmer 17

Hey everybody. My name is Justin Cruz. I am a Senior at Ridge Community High School in Davenport, Florida. I just found out of my acceptance into USNA last Monday. So I am very pumped about life right now.

Unlike most of you, I was not on my A game for most of my life. I only found out about the Naval Academy the summer after my sophomore year of high school. As a matter of fact, just 2 years ago, I knew for a fact that would never join the military (how quickly life changes us..lol). My uncle's cousin was one of the football coaches, Commander Chris "CX" Kennedy, and he was able to give me a tour of the place. I fell in love with it on sight. I was going nowhere in a hurry, but ever since that day, I changed my life completely, and I have never been more determined about something than I am right now. After that day, I got my life on track.

My junior year, I applied for the Summer Seminar, and was accepted to the 3rd session. That year, I got straight A's, and was very involved in my school and community. That year was the first year that my school had JROTC, so I decided to join it to see what it was like. I loved it, and have totally been impacted by what it had to offer me. This year, I am the Battalion Commander of my JROTC Unit, I am on both the Drill and Rifle Team, and have volunteered countless hours for my Unit (espirit de corps as they say). Also, to make up for all the time I've spent wasting my life, I am currently taking 5 AP classes, I was on the swim team, I am in APHS (which is a new program my school is trying to start up across the nation), and a whole laundry list of things. I'm sure you all are already tired and unimpressed by what I have to say, so I will go no further.

I will conclude simply by stating my complete and total belatedness of having been accepted into the United States Naval Academy Class of 2013, and I look forward to seeing everybody there.

come on guys! theres got to be more appointees by now. lets see how much this thread can grow! theres way more on this same thread in the AFA page...

Dont even have my folder yet haha theres a chance it might not have been sent out before break they told me but i got a call from my BGO and then the track coach today telling me I was in

I am from massachusetts 5th congressional district and I am a blue chip recruit for track and field, I was actually just named as an All-American this weekend for the Pentathlon in Indoor Track so this has been a great week for me

^^^
I'm pretty sure he simply had to wait a long time since he was fully qualified to actually recieve his appointment, just like so many of us did. No need to check anyone's altitude here.
