Essays:
To be blunt I’m not a very good writer
but my essays were about the injustice of education around (especially for women ) (which was my best and was actually pretty good ) and for the math one I actually said the exact same thing as the OP
I’m really excited and nervous for our decisions but good luck and Congrats on being Valedictorian.
Oh and when you hear back can you post your decision ? I will too
I’ll definitely post my decision! And you’re class schedule is rigorous, congrats on being able to take that many AP classes at once. You have a good shot at getting admitted!
I’m really nervous for decisions to come out, but best of luck to us!
Congrats!!! I haven’t heard anything yet hopefully by the end of the day
I’ve also been accepted! GSW for social sciences!
@haco9655 which campus wer you accepted to?
@winterr19 Congrats!!! For some reason, there’s a lot of confusion from my county about who got in and everything but I should know by Wednesday, hopefully before!
Thanks and good luck! I hope you find out very soon!
Hey guys! I attended Gov school West for English last year and LOVED IT! Hope you guys love it just as much! (If you’re at West, enjoy not having AC!)
I still don’t know what campus I’m attending (I’m waiting for my letter still), but I’m so excited!
I’m honestly quite nervous as well. @snowmenrsocool Is there anything you’d suggest making sure we bring/dont bring?
@haco9655 it really depends on what campus tbh! At East, you live in raleigh and Raleigh has lots of restaurants and malls and shopping to do. I was at West and we were in old Salem- not much to do… bring lots of cash because there’s a few good places to eat. Bring nice dresses! We literally had 3 fancy dances. People brought instruments because there’s talent shows. The first few days of Gov school are pretty stressful… I was the only one from my school, and had to make brand new friends, but definitely one of the best times of my life! If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask!
@snowmenrsocool Thanks for the advice! Looks like my prom dress is going to get several uses haha. I can’t wait to see what type of stuff we’re going to do this year; I looked at some of the seminars and stuff from last year and they were all really interesting. I’ll make sure to let you know if I have any questions!
@haco9655 yes! Go to as many seminars as possible! They’re great! Also be really proud of yourself Gov school kids are the best and brightest in the state… the kids who went with me- 4 are Park Scholars, 3 are Morehead Scholars, a Coca Cola Scholar, Levine scholar, and a plethora of ivies… you were chosen for a reason!
It sent before I finished typing whoops haha; I meant to say:
Thank you haha, getting into governors school is honestly one of my biggest accomplishments! I’m so excited to meet everyone there, I know it’s going to be super cool to meet other people who are top of their schools too.
@snowmenrsocool how are the dorms at GSW?
@winterr19 no ac except one dorm, so plan on not having ac… my roommate and I got really lucky and somehow got a 3 person room so we had an extra bed and an extra dresser/ desk and our room was HUGE! It was really hard to adjust to no ac since it was 90 degrees everyday, but besides that they are pretty nice
I was also accepted, for choral music and I’m waiting to find out which campus Congrats everyone!
