<p>why would being from north carolina be an advantage. it's not a state with low population (wyoming, dakotas, montana, alaska) nor is it a super low income state. i guess its better than being from the northeast</p>

<p>Well, certain areas (tri-state) are significant disadvantages in general, and especially for northeast colleges. And of course, being from like Montana is an obvious advantage.</p>
<p>I'm asking where NC falls. Maybe it'd be more helpful to ask you guys to make a list of least-to-most advantageous locations.</p>
<p>If you want to attend a college at NC, you can attend a college at NC. I believe diversity is important, but students should choose a college because they are comfortable with the college.</p>
<p>In my opinion, diversity is a good thing. It promotes more social interaction and gives people different perspectives.</p>
