<p>Can someone tell me if Penn would consider NC "geographically diverse" - or if it would be considered so by any school. </p>
<p>Some people have told me it might be, others said it is too far north to be considered southern enough to make any difference in admission. Any comments?</p>

<p>NC is home to lots of great unis and solid school districts. Therefore, many great applicants will be forthcoming to a school like UPenn. Unless you’re in the outlying areas and have some compelling “overcoming adversity” story, NC residency, in and of itself is a non-issue.</p>
<p>Likely, there are other very good schools that don’t get the notice of NC students. For them, your app might be noticed and better considered. But not the Ivies who get great apps from almost everywhere.</p>
