@xn3mom every time I refresh the page more students get added, so using the trick I said about logging in works better. whats his name I can check for you and see if hes on there
@Amaj123 Well, it’s good to know that more id’s are being added. Hopefully there is still a chance!
@amaj123 I already used the trick. He has been accepted. I just thought I’d see if he was also in the directory. I may not have been looking at the right place. Thanks for your help!
WOW!!! I think this is too risky!!! What if tomorrow, they notice a spike in password reset or changes and do an audit!!!
For anyone on this thread, that has not done it my 2 cents don’t. Be patient and wait, Jan 30 will be here soon enough.
@amaj123 so you can look up if Im in? Wont they be out tomorrow anyway?
Tried the Unity ID route and did not work.
@Amaj123 can you check seabell?
Wow - I can see kids being excited to figure out if they got in - but parents jumping on the hacking in bandwagon cracks me up.
So I have a daughter who is a junior who has a unity ID that has a number at the end, assuming that there were many other students who had the exact initials and last name prior to her. I have another daughter who has applied and likely will have the same issue. How do you use this hack when you have no knowledge of what the unity ID might actually be? Do you keep changing the last letter in the last name to a number and keep adding to it not knowing what it might be, or is this a waste of time?
I would try to see if your younger D has an email. Get your older daughter to check.
yo my friends are all able to use the unityid trick but mine doesnt work… they logged into their ncsu email and searched for my name but it doesnt come up… does this mean they all got in and i didnt?
It could just mean your app has not been processed yet.
but if your unity id works and you have an ncsu email does it for sure mean that youre in?
Just tried for my daughter and it didn’t work. I am not a patient person
Sorry to ask as I am sure this was mentioned earlier, is the unity ID case sensitive? all lower case or something else?
So I found out for my son and got good news! Question though… by creating a student account in the Portal, it makes it looks like he’s already accepted a spot at NC State. We’re out of state and he can only attend NC State if he’s given some merit money. Do you think his chances of being awarded merit money will decrease if they think he’s already accepted a spot at NCSU? Of course, we haven’t paid the deposit yet. But the student portal makes it look like you’ve already accepted the offer. Thoughts on this?
@pama3115 I entered all lower case. So first initial of first name, first initial of middle name, and entire last name. So John Michael Bonner would be jmbonner
Has anyone received an acceptance letter or email for ea yet?
Im still thinking they will notify us on the portal today at 5pm. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, as a parent i find these posts hilarious…ingenious kids! I’ve been trying as well with the unity password change method and got this error: There is an issue with your Security Questions. In order to reset your password please go to the walk-in center at 101 West Dunn Building located on the corner of Dan Allen Drive and Thurman Drive.
So perhaps good news, her login id (mfmiller) seems to be in the system…In any event, the ‘word’ she has gotten is today at 5:00PM…so we’ll see!!
