Do you have to fill out pack assist for merit?

Wow. Seems strange with those stats. Congrats on UNC. Do u think it was the particular major? Even then, Iā€™d say no ques engineering should be an accept.

Son accepted to design studies. Out of state 3.8 gpa. No test scores submitted. When do we find out about merit aid/ scholarships?

I found it on their website. University Honors Program

Thanks for the link. We were looking for this last night and couldnā€™t find it. Honestly, NC Stateā€™s website is one of the least user friendly ones Iā€™ve encountered while our son is applying to colleges.

thank you! to be honest, i am not really sure. i did apply with biomedical engineering as my first-choice major. maybe it is because there are so many kids that apply from my county? but my friends with lower stats got in while people that had similar stats to mine were deferred.

Interesting. Itā€™s such a weird application period. Realize this is no consolation but if you look at Northeastern kids with 1570,4.0 weā€™re getting deferred in large volume. Hard to know where you stand this year and last as well. I got in engineering but good chance will go to UNC. Wanted options( which maybe my only 2 considering RD looks brutal and applied to competitive schools). GL

***Does anyone know when a complete financial aid/ total cost of attendance will be available?
I canā€™t seem to find any information on the website

Large colleges like NCSU are trying to keep yield up and are reticent to admit great out of state applicants that appear unlikely to matriculate.

Also making it more difficult for OOS for NC universities is the 18% cap for incoming first-year students.

I hear you on the OOS cap but NC St reports that it actually has only has 13%. Are they deliberately keeping it lower or are they not getting enough qualified OOS applicants?

DD was deferredā€¦we are in state ā€¦her brother (class of 2023 at NC State) was also deferred 3 years ago. Sheā€™s pretty sure sheā€™s going somewhere else anyway as we live near State and she wants to go away.

Has anyone tried to apply for scholarships on pack assist? The unity ID and temporary PW arenā€™t working. Do you have to actually enroll with a deposit
before you can apply??

My guess is they donā€™t necessarily think being right at 18% is that important, this makes getting in OOS that much more difficult. Enrollment will hit 40,000 in the next few years(focus on COE) so it will be interesting to see if the OOS number increases as well.
