UNC does not have engineering except for Biomedical Engineering. So if you have a strong interest in engineering then NC State would be a better choice…
For Computer Science, you need to look at which has the best program for what you want. I believe that the CS program at UNC has been impacted by the state budget cuts. Might want to research that to see if it true.
