I got accepted to state!!
freshman transfer from UNCC
3.8 gpa got into business
I got accepted into the electrical engineering program today. My transfer gpa was 3.88 at Wake tech.
Accepted!
So I did the trick since people have been saying the university will create the Gmail accounts for the admitted students before decision released. I tried the potential account will assigned to me which is the first letter of my first name and my last name, following with a number (if you try to find any current students/staffs in the directory on NCSU websit that have same last name and same initial letter of first name as yours, you will find the biggest number of those combination. If there’s another new one created, just try to log in the Gmail with the same account plus one). Now I found the new account does exist, but theoretically, there might be another student has the same last name and same first name initial got admitted… I doubt for my case tho cause I’m international, it’s not that common to have the combination…
Anyway, I’m just goofing around to make myself feel better while waiting…
What time did you get the email? @grindstudyeat
Where did you come from? @se7en1een
@WalfPaw1 China
Do you have WeChat?@se7en1een
I do but I won’t post it in public
Messaged you @se7en1een
Mihamed how many credits are you transferring in with?
I was rejected
I honestly don’t know why too
is it because I’m from NJ (and a CC???)
or because I’m already on my 2nd year?
stats:
sophomore at NJ CC
3.9 GPA
60+ credit hours
@hbh2017 He took the required courses his first semester - made a B in Calculus and an A in English. SAT was 760 Reading/Writing and 690 Math. NC State has more transfer applicants than UNC does. I guess it must be super competitive to get into Poole. Congrats again on your acceptance to NC State!
@OnlySon2022 I think he will for sure get into NC State. But UNC is a great choice too. Tough decision.
For anybody feeling discouraged right now, don’t be! I did not get accepted my first try and yet I worked really hard at a community college and earned admission the second time around. If I can do it you can too!
@on2something Have you fullfilled the minimum requirement? And what major are you applying for?
Does anyone know how much the final transcript can affect admission? I know we have to send a final transcript, but is it possible for NCSU to revoke admission based on the final grades? I know anything below a C does not transfer and looks bad on the transcript, but will it be okay if your final grades are As and Bs? It would be terrible if admission is revoked for a final B grade instead of an A. Basically, if your final grade is above a C there won’t be any problems and you are all set to attend NCSU right?
What if your final grade is a C (calculus 2) but it’s only one class, and you’ve got all A everywhere else?
@on2something Did you get an email or your portal updated? I still have nothing. I get the message but it would have been nice for the decision to be posted. You stats are great, btw.
So it turns out Wake Tech had a supposed glitch and they didn’t send out my son’s transcripts to any of the colleges he applied to and apparently not just his. It isn’t supposed to affect his chances but I don’t believe that for one hot minute. To say that we aren’t happy at the moment is a vast understatement. I am astounded that none of them raised any flag that they were missing his transcripts even after he had called each one to verify that they had received and processed his applications. I am not sure what we were paying for with that application fee then.
