still waiting…

@seaver…on the ncssm facebook there are students who mentioned getting in just days before classes started and even after classes started last year. Don’t lose hope!

Hey does anyone know how competitive District 2 is? Example: how many people you know made it in last year. lol none of the forums has anyone asking about district 2.

@seaver: rumor has it that a couple of kids just got ‘the call’ within the last week. Hang in there. Time is not up.

Hey I’m a wait list kid too, any idea how many wait listers there are? how many girls vs guys? It’s killing me that tomorrow is move in day.

We were told at welcome day II that there were 30 girls and 30 guys on the waitlist. I have no idea how many of gotten in as of today. We were told that they take kids through Labor Day weekend and that some kids do leave once school starts and some do not show up on move in day.

Has anyone gotten any news? I’m starting to feel a bit downcast about the whole situation. My mom emailed Rob and he informed her that the girl’s waitlist hasn’t moved for some weeks now :/

I have not heard anything. If we hear of any kids leaving, I will certainly post it. It is very hard to wait, I am sure. Still, labor day is not here just yet so there is still some hope. I am sorry you are having to go through this.
One student posted, awhile back on a student site we saw while our daughter was waiting, that you have to take pride in the fact that you made the waitlist as, given the number of applicants, that is no small task. Still, when waiting for ‘the call’ that is not a lot of consolation, I know. Wish I had more to share.

IS anyone on the waitlist for district 13?

I haven’t heard anything either. I heard on move in day that a boy did not show up and someone was awaiting a new roommate but that’s all. Classes just started yesterday so now that the fun of the weekend is behind them and the reality of classes settles in, there may be kids who realize this workload or teaching style or residential life is not for them.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be to wait, but hang in there. I’ve talked to Seniors who were on the list and came in after the beginning of class last year.

Wish I could be of more help.

Thank you for the advice and help, Emma and Taben! It has made me feel better about this :)

Sooo… how many people out there still waiting? NCSSM feels like a myth after all of this waiting.

Im still waiting.

I heard news from Mr. Andrews, and apparently there are 21 girls still on the waitlist.

I talked with my child who is a current student and she has heard of a couple of people who are re-thinking staying at NCSSM because of the residential component…just missing home/friends/home school. One is a boy. Not sure about the other.
This is no guarentee that they will indeed leave, but I think it indicates what we were told all along…most years kids get in up until Labor Day.
I really hope that you all get. I am sure it is very, very hard to wait. From what mimiw10 says, it seems as though there has not been much movement this year as of yet for girls.
Any idea how many boys are still on the waitlist? As I recall, there were 30 girls and 30 boys on the list initially, correct?
T

I’ve heard there are around 10 boys still on the list; and the waitlist this year was comprised of 33 girls and 32 boys.

To all the people still waiting for the call including me, I would like to say that if you do not get in, remember that in the end you made it this far. We may have to face the facts for this one that some things arn’t meant to be. As a teen, it means a lot that you are trying to take on the greater challenge, and that I’m not the only one who still wishes for the best education. Labor day isn’t here yet, so fingers still crossed for everyone of us. Keep it up guys, the race still hasn’t ended. -Alex M.

@wowimconfused…very nice and encourging post in all regards. I am keeping my fingers crossed for your all.

Just out of curiosity, but did anyone else get in?
