NCSSM Class of 2018 - Future Applicants

I know 4 people are applying from my school (private) but don’t know anyone applying from local public schools but there could definitely be some.

I almost have all my application done! Just need that Counselor Recommendation and Discovery Day to go well! Where’s everyone else at?

Do they not look at any grades past fall semester of 10th grade?

@Abracadabra16 correct, ncssm does not see your spring semester grades.

Thanks! Does anyone know how heavily the NCSSM math test counts toward your acceptence?

@Abracadabra16 Not much at all, coming from someone who is there and its just basic algebra. I believe the biggest difficulty is the time limit, and even then its just a 30 minute test compared to the rest of your application

Today marks the day my uniapp wheel is completely finished… Now comes the real wait time…

the test was ridiculously easy (finished in about 23 min), but 1/3 of the people in my room failed to finish.

I thought it was easy too.

Now we wait until April 4th…

still waiting for college board…

Has everybody’s Discovery Day piece lit up in UniApp? Mine still hasn’t, and I went to Discovery Day on March 5th.

same; mine isn’t either but i think they may be waiting until everyone’s D-day is done. That Feb. 20 SAT was so much easier; got a 2290.

IM IN ACTUAL LOVE WITH THE FEBRUARY SAT SCORES

Highkey freaked out rn because still missing two evaluations and idk what to do about that!!

@smathstress freaking out atm too. Luckily they aren’t due until tomorrow at 11:59 PM, so we still have a day but I really need my counselor to hurry up

Just found this page, and I’m surprised that its already so full. I’m a current NCSSM junior. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask - I’m probably going to be around a lot. I applied from CD13 and went to a competitive high school.

@awkwardduck What were your stats?

My stats weren’t superb. I took AB BC my sophomore year along with AP World and APES, Bio + Chem my freshman year. I had straight A’s except for a B in AB. My SAT score was in the 2100 range - not super great. Wrote decent essays and was very committed to volunteering and helping out in the community. My ranking was somewhere around 90 out of 600 - definitely didn’t have the best stats among those that applied from my school.

So happy that my application is done; who else was waiting on one teacher until the last minute?

@AJM777 I was! Super excited too. Now we just wait.
