@IBstudent2018 EC’s from before 7th don’t count. That being said, you are living in the easiest District (47% Acceptance Rate) and are taking IB Classes. You should be a shoe-in.
@smather2018 Oh sorry that’s just copied and pasted from a general document I’ve had! But do you think my sat score is good enough??
For your district I’d say it’s good, but it wouldn’t hurt to improve it maybe 100/150 points. @IBstudent2018
Okay! thank you so much for your help! @smather2018
No problemo @IBstudent2018
How’s everyone’s teacher recommendations going?
Hey guys! I’m also a sophomore applying for c/o 2018. I’m not going to go into the effort of typing out my stats right now, but does anyone know how competitive CD 2 is? I haven’t been able to find anything so far on here. Thanks guys, and I hope to see you all on welcome day!!
@neurofuture If I recall correctly, CD2 is very competitive, but I won’t be able to confirm until I get home. Check out the stats for each district somewhere near page 10.

A federal court just ruled that Districts 1&12 must be redrawn before any election due to gerrymandering. Do you think NCSSM will be taking this into account on their admissions decisions? The districts must be redrawn before the primary registration deadline, which is February 19th.
@jswani Probably. They won’t be making any decisions until April, so I’d imagine they’d reorder what district you’re in and compare against that instead of the current districts.
lmao guys just remember that not getting into SSM can be a blessing: this place is hell on Earth for a lot of people, especially those from good schools (in the Triangle/Triad). Enjoy sophomore year and let it be the year that you skipped your first class or had your first kiss, not the year that you obsessed about SSM. Get off CC and STOP WORRYING ABOUT IT
How are everyone’s application going? Discovery Day is pretty soon as well, what days are you guys going on?
@jswani March 4th or 5th or something like that. Whenever Union’s going.
@smather2018 I’m going March 5th! We may see each other.
@ramen01 Hi there! So, from what I’ve learned from emailing with the admissions counselors, they will know which courses your high school offers and see how competitive you are in your school! They won’t throw out your SAT either - your score is just used to compare your achievement against your school’s - all you need to do is get 100 more than your school’s average in each section and that’s literally all they check for in your SAT! Also try to find some really great community service projects because they really look for people who can manage a large courseload and extracurriculars! Bonus points if you can find stem related ones!
Where does someone stand in CD2 if they have a 2170 SAT? 700 Math 720 CR 750 Writing
It matters. What school do you go to?
