@ThaOneDude Is there a certain ap score you have to get to be able to take multi variable calc? My goal is a 5 but despite it being a common score for that test, at my school it is unheard of.
Hey, is the discovery day test the same for everybody, or based on the math you are in rn?
Everyone, so this year the dday math test was different. @icantfindany It was the same for all. 1/4th precalc, 5/12 calc and then the rest was multivariate calc
It can’t be. I talked to the admissions committee. It is the same, but it’s Math 1 and 2.
@ThatOneDude did you already take the discovery day test?
Disregard my previous comment, I was trolled by my friends, it is all math 1 and 2 stuff as @AceRed said

I know I already submitted my app, but just to mentally prepare for the big day
Hi everyone! I am in CD5 applying to NCSSM Online. I’m really worried that I won’t get in even though I’m taking a number of more advanced classes. Here’s what I’ve done so far (all A’s):
Freshman year:
PLTW Intro to Engineering and Design (carries an AP weight in terms of GPA)
Spanish II
PE / Life Management Skills
Math II HN
Math III HN
Precalculus HN
World History Seminar HN
Biology Seminar HN
English I HN
Sophomore year (1st semester)
AP Calculus ABBC
AP Chemistry
AP Human Geography
English II HN
PE / Health
Extracurriculars:
Technology Student Association (TSA) - Engineering Design, Tech Bowl, Animatronics, Software design
NCASA Academic Team (District Champions two years going - I am a starter for that team)
NAQT Quiz Bowl - captain
NCASA Twelve - starter
NSB Science Bowl
NAQT Science Championship
School Math Club
Cross Country
Indoor Track
Outdoor Track
I’m worried that they won’t take all four other students in the district who are taking a comparable courseload (though all go to a different high school than I). Does anyone know how many are accepted from each district?
Thanks!
I think there are 13 districts in NC and just under 350 students in each class. I do not think they have to take an exact number from each district but understand they attempt to do so.
Be aware it is not just rigor they look for but also recs, SAT in comparison to your HS, essays, etc.
Good luck! It will not be much longer til we know…
Has anyone had any luck getting their transcript uploaded to the Uniapp? The guidance councilor uploaded the transcript on 2/25 and we can view the transcript on the CFNC website but it is still not showing up in the Uniapp after 5 days.
Hey everyone! Super excited to be here. Does anyone know how competative CD2 is? My school didn’t allow anyone to take a math/science course over the summer/as a supplement to our regular classes so I don’t have nearly as many high level classes as everyone else seems to have :(.
Hey yearstogo, I am having the same problem. So apparently on CFNC it says that it has been received by NCSSM, but will take about 3 weeks for it to say that it was received.
So, NCSSM knows that schools don’t have all of the same options as others, so NCSSM takes that into consideration, since at least 10 people have probably applied from your school in the past few years. Basically NCSSM knows this and will take into consideration while reviewing your app. But, what do I know, I’m also applying this and am worried to death about the admissions.
But, can anybody please see my previous comment on this page regarding my classes and EC’s and give me insight on whether or not I have a chance of getting accepted? This just to mentally prepare for April Fool’s Day.
How bad is the discovery day test
@AceRed Since the admissions are not based strictly on merit, no one can possibly predict your chances of getting in. There are some amazing kids that have not gotten in that in my opinion definitely should have been admitted and there are others that got in that are questionable. For the most part though, it makes sense.
At this stage, we can all just wait (and suffer…)
Best of luck!!
For those who have taken the discovery day test, how hard is it? And what topics should I look over.
It was super easy
