Do either one of you know of any practice SAT books. Because I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get to high. need all the help I can get! Also my school is new (they don’t have a average SAT score) so do I just use a near by school as my SAT score refrence?

There is the internet. [Free SAT Practice Test - Prepare for the SAT](<a href=“The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board”>Downloadable Full-Length SAT Practice Tests – SAT Suite)

I am currently planning on buying Grubers SAT study guide and Collegeboards The Official SAT Study guide. I hear those two are great, especially Grubers. I am also getting my Geometry teacher to tutor me. Since your school is new, they may use your county SAT average? I’m just guessing though!

@yerhs52, that website is lovely! Thank you for posting it.

Yeah! I have heard from many people that the math test you take on discovery day is looked at more than the SATs.

Just to make things clear… who is going to apply for the class of 2015? Also, what are your CDs?

I’m absolutely terrified of the math test on Discovery Day. I heard it was not necessarily a tough test, it is just hard without a calculator and you don’t have a long period of time.

I absolutely love math and can do a lot of it in my head such as polynomials and factoring. I am just hoping for that to count more than the SATs. :)

I wish I was lucky enough to say that. I’m not bad at it, it’s just I get stressed out easily when I get put on a time clock.

Also, I was looking back at your schedule for next year and I saw that it was too basic. I think that you should try and double up on your sciences. This way, it looks as if you are challenged.

I have been trying, but my school is in a very uneducated district, and they have not allowed me to take another course that is designed for an upper grade level, but I am working with them right now to try to get them to change that and I will hopefully be able to take a more challenging course!

That limits you very much. :(

But, I think that you can still get in. I know that there were 5 people that applied from my school and only 1 got in. She took up to Precalculus in math and took Biology and Chemistry for her sciences. I think that over all both of us can get in if we can maintain straight As for the rest of this year and the first semester of 10th grade.

I know it limits me, but thankfully my whole district is limited, so NCSSM will hopefully note that in with my application, but I think you have a great chance! And about two kids get in from my school each year.

Well if your whole district is limited, then you have no problem. This year was a huge slump because my guidance counselor told me that usually 5-6 people get in from just my school each year.

Wow, that’s a lot of people to get in!

Yeah! She said that one year, 8 out of the 9 people that applied got in from just my school! :D

I am applying and I’m from CD2. Also thanks for the books and websites also the math test I HEAR (not positive…) it is 30 min for 25 questions and 10 min for the essay . I’m excited about the tour! My school this year I know at least 3 girls got in, but I’m not sure how many applied.

I think only 3 applied from my school this year, but next year I have heard of a lot more people applying.

I only know of 2 real contenders from my school: Me and this other guy. There is another one that is ok… but sadly I do not think that he will make it. There is another person who wants to apply but has pretty much no chance. I do know some other people but I think that most of them are too lazy to go through with all of the processes.
