NCSU Vs UNC

what's the difference between NCSU Vs. UNC? UNC is better right?

honestly depends on what you want to study - they are both great schools but UNC is overall much better

Differences:

NCSU is the (white) land grant school in NC. It is heavy into the sciences and agriculture with a smattering of liberal arts.

UNC also has a heavy dose of sciences but no engineering. It has great great liberal arts.

UNC is much, much, much harder for an out of state student to get into.

NC State tends to be the safety school for Chapel Hill unless you're interested in engineering or agriculture, in which case NC State would be better. NC State has an extremely large campus, and it's not very attractive (unless you really, really like brick). The students are fairly diverse, although not as much as at UNC. Because of its engineering and science programs, NC State is about 60% male and 40% female, and UNC is about 60% female and 40% male. UNC has a very attractive campus, with an older and more dignified appeal. When you apply to NC State, you must apply to a specific school (engineering, humanities, agriculture & life sciences, etc.), whereas at Chapel Hill you just apply to the College of Arts and Sciences. UNC tends to be much more generous with scholarships, although the Park Scholarship at NC State is very nearly as difficult to get as the Morehead at UNC. Duke, UNC, and NC State have a consortium in which students at the three universities can take one class a semester at another school. This is very easy to do at Duke and UNC because a bus regularly runs between them; this is less easy at NC State. The three also share an interlibrary-loan system. For specialized fields (genetics, entomology, textiles, engineering, zoology, etc.), NC State would be better, but UNC is much better for a broad education.
