I’m currently trying to transfer to ND for Fall 2018, into the College of Arts and Letters. I’ve modeled my classes so far off of the course requirements so far, but I hesitated when I saw “9 semester hours of other” (Philosophy, Theology, Foreign language, or transferable electives) (Transferable electives are typically any courses from the subject areas listed in this guide). I can’t find the guide of transferable electives or subject areas. Does anyone know where I could find this?
According to the other transfer threads, Notre Dame really wants people to have followed a course of study that would directly translate to credits for the Notre Dame First Year of Studies. That way, the student does not need to play catch-up with the curriculum.
Download this year’s Bulletin of Information here: https://registrar.nd.edu/BOI/BOI.php
Look for the First Year of Studies pages starting at page 37. They explain that the electives are any of the classes already mentioned, so an extra math or science or writing or theology or philosophy course depending on what you want to study. The elective course you choose should have an ND equivalent based on the book and the syllabus.
You can always contact the admissions office and get first-hand information.
Awesome! Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for!
