No letter in Northern Virginia (DC)

Son was accepted today! Chicago northern suburbs. Very excited. Hard to wait, so am feeling for all still waiting! Hang in there!

Hopefully tomorrow!!!

Oh my gosh–almost 6:15 in Northern VA and the mail STILL hasn’t arrived :(

Received in Minnesota today. Either deferred or rejected, it’s a regular, thin envelope. DS will be crushed. Honestly, he’d rather be rejected than deferred…

:( Sorry, McMomma. DD will also be crushed if the envelope is regular but we’ve tried to put a positive spin on the deferral possibility. Hate seeing kids so disappointed. Hugs to your son.

Still nothing in TX today…the wait is killing me

Thanks BeachMom21 He actually said he hopes he’s rejected if not accepted, because so few of the kids that are deferred actually make it in and them he can move forward with an ED2 decisionfor Vanderbilt. It frustrates me so much, b/c ND only usually allows 1 student from our HS in each year…and none have made it from the deferred/wait list in ;-)

McMomma: Where are you in MN? We are MN, and still waiting. Nothing in today’s mail. What high school does your son attend?

Really–only one kid per high school? Is that typical of ND? I don’t know who else from DD’s high school applied to ND but we have a beautiful new Catholic high school that’s local and I worry about the competition coming form there. It will help our DD in that she’s already been accepted to her safety school and knows she would get a fabulous education there and have a great time–but the environment would be nothing like it is at ND.

Sorry to hear McMomma. We too got the skinny, regular envelope. Son is not too upset about it, however. He has other good options in view, and he’s a low key kind of kid who’s more worried about working until 11 PM and getting his homework done in his six AP’s tonight than his first rejection.

Received in SoCal! :)

Is there a Class of 2017 group on Facebook? There is one group i’ve found with 38 people in it, is that it?

I got mine today, and I live in central Minnesota, near St. Cloud.

Summertime16, a live in the Twin Cities, he attends Holy Angels. Two of his classmates got in, both legacy. He feels doomed for sure now, but is going to reach out to the admissions counselor & we may be taking another to to Nashville I think before the ED2 deadline.

ND will tell you that there are no quotas, but historically they are very stingy fire our high school, while other Catholic HS on the area with a smaller class size have more kids accepted…and we are talking kids with ACT’s in the mid to high 20’a that get in from the other schools. Frustrating!

Nothing in San Diego yet. Hoping for today!

If ND does have quotas, then the high schools from our area have an average quota of 0! My son was the first one from his Catholic HS to be admitted to ND since 1999 - and that young man was a recruited FB player. There aren’t a ton of kids that apply every year, but there are some. Guess the HS hasn’t made a good connection yet with the university.

I don’t think ND has quotas because my school got at least 6 people in early. Last year, in total, 12 people got in just from my school.
