Although we're originally from Chicago, my daughter has grown up in Texas and has never experienced a midwestern fall/winter/spring. I wonder if she can handle it! Any of you from Texas or other warm spots, how have you adjusted to the cold weather?

I’m Chicago, and I know I don’t fit the profile. I just wanted to say that it has been extraordinarily warm so far this year. If it means anything, yes it’s cold. The wind is the worst. It usually lasts until May too.

Ugg boots, North Face jacket, texting gloves.
Yes, she can handle it.

I’m from south Florida, and it’s definitely cold here, and looking to get colder. The weather would be a big complaint from me, but it’s nothing worth passing up Notre Dame for. Just have her wear jackets (no particular brand necessary) and such, and she’ll be fine. Campus is big, so there’s a lot of walking, but you still spend most of your time inside.
