I am also wondering if the average GPA for the College of Science (and probably Engineering) is lower than the overall average GPA of 3.7 for transfers. Just curious...

hahah ndgolf I was thinking the same thing... our boy here is serious

justbumming-im not your boy

Relax longhorn, breathing is a good thing. I think the college of science may be a little less selective overall, but it just depends on the year. Transfers fill holes, so it just depends on how popular the College of Science is with current freshman. I will say that with a 3.9, as long as you have the right classes, you are looking good.

The College of Science STRONGLY prefers students who will be transferring in as sophomores over juniors, so that is something to keep in mind as well. This is not the case with the other colleges, though sophomore transfers are by far the most common.

I hope that helps. Feel free to PM or email me if you have any questions. I don't make it to the boards that often anymore but I am an email junkie, and that is where your PMs go.

got my acceptance letter today...postmarked the 23rd

congrats, ndgolf! are you going to attend?

hell ya..........

Congrats!!! Welcome to the family!

Congrats!!

has anyone else heard anything yet??

Nope, nothing. ndgolf69, you live near ND?

no, northern va. i sent my final grades in over 2 weeks ago, though.

Same here, I sent in my final grades in late April. However, I am taking a spring semester calc-based Physics class here at Michigan to fulfill my NROTC requirements, as well as to fulfill the Science requirement (I took a four credit science class during the Fall semester, but opted to take Physics this spring due to a very hard Calculus II class I took during the Winter semester). Could they possibly be waiting for that final grade (I hope not, the class is killer, I'm pretty much the only non-Engineering/physics/math major in the entire class)? I fulfilled every other requirement they requested for the College of Arts and Letters...

I sent mine in late april too, and I have not recieved anything. The thing I find fishy is this, I know they do it on a rolling basis, but they also tell me that rolling basis is based on last name. My last name starts with C right, so im expecting to hear something soon you know, then I read this thread and im like WTH! So I called them today, and they told me no decision has been made for my name, so im really confused and my paranoia is getting the better half of me, THE RED BULLS GOT ME!

Anybody else know anything?

my last name starts with "r" haha

Yup they lied, I thought catholics werent soppose to lie? lol

What size envelope did the acceptance letter come in?

big and white

Last year I received my letter on June 16th and I am in Arts & Letters now. My friends who transfered into Science heard around June 1. It was a long wait after the acceptances started to roll out.

Last year I was told that Science had fewer applicants to review and fewer graduates to manage in the spring so their transfer applicants were reviewed earlier. I am not sure if that will be the case this year or not. I believe the number of transfers accepted last year was around 167.

If you are accepted, be sure that you and your family take part in every transfer O activity. You will never forget it.

waitingtoolong, thanks for the info! any idea about the freshman gpa's of your friends who transferred into the college of science?

also, not to be too pessimistic, but does anyone know when the rejection letters are sent out? late june?
