Just got all my NetID/housing/other info today in the mail, thanks for your help.

Bernie4: The transition is what you make of it. Whenever I catch up with other transfer from my class, or those of the classes prior to mine, I receive a broad range of responses. From those who are still having a tough time settling in to those who are getting by as if they've been here all their lives.

My advice to incoming transfers is to lose the perception that you still have to prove yourself or that you are still just an incoming body. Notre Dame is your home and your family now and you ought to act as such. In most of my classes, nobody really knew each other so everyone, whether they're seniors who have been here for all four years or transfers who have only been on campus for the last few days, everyone has a fresh start to make an impressions.

This is where the what-you-make-of-it part comes in. I'm the alpha male type who has to contribute if not dominate in class conversations. At the same time, I try to be as approachable outside of class as I can. As a result, I find myself engaging with other students inside and outside of class pretty often. They were shocked to find out it had only been my first semester at the University. By the end of the semester, I found myself in a variety of leadership positions in my hall and I've made the University Folk Choir for next year.

The point I'm trying to make is that you don't have to feel like you're different from anyone else, because nobody really knows that. It is up to the individual to determine how his or her transition goes and honestly, you've already gotten the hard part out of the way, you've proved your worth to the University... you ought to give yourself a little credit for it.

Treytre: Awesome news, if you need anything else or have any questions don't hesitate to shoot me an email: jpham1@nd.edu

That offer stands for anyone.

I just got a call from Notre Dame... AND I WAS ACCEPTED!!!!!!!

I dont even know how to react, it came as a shock I mean, I really did not expect to get in. Its like you pray and you pray at night for a chance, and when that chance comes you dont know how to react.

But thank you to everyone who has helped me with the transfer process. All the CCers who actually believed in me, thank you. Also to the others who are still waiting, GOOD LUCK! Anything really can happen!

To the transfers that are in already....... I WILL SEE YOU THERE!!!

I can't believe, but I was just accepted over the phone. Notre Dame had always been my dream school, and now the dream has actually come true. I still can't believe it.

Go Irish!!!

Congrats Isaac, I found out the same way and had the same excitement. I am guessing you just found out today? I was thinking I was the last one accepted lol, but yea GO IRISH!

Yeah dude, the way it happened was I was sleeping in at about 11:00 in the morning when I heard my cell ring. At first, I was pretty mad because I was still tired as hell and wanted to go back to bed. Needless to say, it was probably the best rude awakening of my life. Now my next task at hand is probably to get hooked up with as much ND apparel/accessories as humanly possible.
