Need a parent FAFSA pin?

I’m working with a student with one parent. This student does not qualify as an independent student but the parent has no money and is not helping with anything to do with college.

The student has applied for a pin and will have available the necessary parent information information.

But does the parent also need a pin? Or can the student fill out the FAFSA on the student’s own, including both student and parent information and sign it just with the student pin?

It has to be signed with both PINs.

Both the parent and the student need to have their own PIN, and as AD said…both must sign the student’s FAFSA.
