need ACT advice badly...

I'll be retaking the ACT on the next test date (which is in like a, er, week) and I need some serious help. I got a really poor score when I took it in April, a 28. I also took the sat around that time and did badly, a 1950.

I'm in the top 2% of my class and do tons of extracurriculars and stuff like that, so I'm really worried about my test scores pulling down what would otherwise be a pretty good application. I'm obviously looking to at least be in the running for some elite schools (that's why we're here, right?).

So, does anybody have any ideas about how I can improve? I've got the "real act" book and will be going through the practice tests this week and stuff, but I don't think that'll help too much, frankly. I have no idea why I do so badly. I didn't take any review courses because of the time/money, but it retrospect that was probably not a good idea. I really wasn't expecting those kind of scores when I decided to not do them!

thanks!

I did bad too, were you like me:

English: 33
Math: 31
Reading: 27
Science: 26

Notice the downward spiral of scores.

If so then improve your concentration skills, you can get really tired EASILY on this test and if you do, you bomb it.

If you just scored like a 28 on all sections, I dunno what to say.

That's interesting, I haden't thought of that. I just checked though, and all of my were 29-27.
