Hey guys , i'm in this big mess right now and i could use some help. Here it goes , I am currently doing my undergrad in a university called SRM , kattankalathur
( SRM University | Home) . It is a recognized private university with accreditation from ABET etc etc and it may not be as good as the IITs but its not bad one either. Anyways , i just finished my first sem with a score of 8.7 out of 10 gpa ( ~ 3.5 / 4.0). I am doing my B.E in electrical and electronics. Now here is this the problem , i want to apply to many colleges in the US and UK and i have no idea how i can build up an impressive application for the good colleges . There isn't much i can do in the college except for a few projects and playing any sport is possible only in the weekends and not the weekdays. I have played football (soccer) for the district level and i have volunteered for many social causes and now i am in the process of joining the rotary club ( god knows when i can spare time though!). There is another problem , my 10th marks(CBSE) were an 8.6 out of 10 but my 12th(CBSE) was really low and i mean really low ( overall 72% , PCM-64%). i performed really bad because i was in depression as my life was back then was complete **** and i even thought of taking my own life but then somehow i got over it and then managed 70% because of previous preparation and because i payed attention in class. What do i tell the college guys? will they accept me into their college with such marks? i feel bad because i think this will get me rejected.
I am planning to start my preparation for the GMAT and the GRE and i mostly will do an MBA . Can you guys help me out on how i can build my application up and also how i can handle the bad marks?
