<p>I’m pretty sure that UA only grants exceptions if the student would be living with their parents/guardians in the Tuscaloosa area. If you are fully retired, you could make your official place of residency in Tuscaloosa or Northport. Depending on what state you are currently living in, changing your residency to AL could save some money (the state has a brochure detailing this). I would recommend having each D live on campus for her freshman year just because it is a good way to meet more people. If you did that, you wouldn’t have to officially move because only freshmen are required to live on campus. On the other hand, a student that has their own house can become really popular, which would be another difficulty in the landlord-tenant relationship.</p>
