University of Alabama - scholarship question

did any of your kids get the out of state scholarships (capstone, collegiate, ua or presidential).

or any other scholarships (academic elite, CBHP, etc)

what about departmental? or any other scholarships i haven't mentioned?

if so, do you mind posting what they got and their stats.

my DD seems to really want to go there and it would be nice to know what she might be able to qualify for.

i know they have the guideline on the website, but i also remember seeing that they don't necessarily really follow those guidelines. as in, they gave the ua scholarship to kids who didnt quite meet the stats for the ua scholarship.

thanks in advance.

Might she be a National Merit Finalist?

Jolynne Smith’s S got a free ride to Univ of Alabama. You might want to pm her.

a big NO on that!!! haha!

we will most likely be looking at ua or presidential scholar.

not sure if she will qualify for anything else … but it never hurts to try!!!

currently she has a 29 on the ACT (one sitting) and grades within the parameters.

i think i have talked to jolynnesmith before. her sons grades were not too spiffy, but he rocked the SAT (or was it the ACT?).

DS#2 was offered, out of the blue, a full fide plus summer travel money plus a laptop. He hadn’t even applied to the school. Offer came in this big spiffy envelope with calligraphied certificates. But they wanted an answer by Dec. 1, before he’d have heard from any other schools. And he had not intended to apply to Alabama. But it was pretty cool!

WOW! he must have some awesome stats?

mind sharing them??

His stats were quite strong, but not off the radar strong. I’ve posted publically before and he didnt like that a lot, so I’d prefer not to do it again. Sorry.

** and apologies for the typo above. “fide” should be “ride” :o
