Alright, so I was unable to get into AP Chemistry due to scheduling conflicts. I would really like to be able to not take general chemistry in college; at the college I will be going to I'd get credit for a 3, but I wouldn't feel comfortable taking the credit without a 4. I got a 99 in advanced chemistry last year, but there was grade inflation. (20 point scales ((sometimes more)) on tests due to the class failing, and I would have got a 110 if I did any homework assignments... it was embarrassing)

Also should I double up on AP english classes. I'm a senior this year and really do not want to take English in college; if I can get a 5 on one of the AP english exams or a 4 on both then I will get all the credit I need for my degree. I'm a senior this year, so this is it for me in high school. AP English composition is the class with the most amount of homework and out of class assignments in my school, which although doable would make it a pain with all my extracurriculars (Math team, debate team, varsity cross country, varsity track and field, scholars bowl, and national honors society).

My schedule this year will be:
1st- Strength building/athletics (weight room and running)
2nd- AP English/Composition (if I decide to take it... if not regular P.E., AP biology ((I took the biology exam and made a 3 without taking the class, because I didn't think I'd have an option to take it as a senior)), or maybe advanced anatomy would be able to replace it)
3rd- AP economics (micro then macro in alternating semesters)
4th- AP Government
5th- AP English Literature
6th- Strength building/athletics
7th- AP calculus AB
8th- AP Physics B

Thank you all for reading, and I'd be grateful for any opinions or advice anyone from CC is willing to give me. Oh, and my college will accept CLEP exams for both chemistry and english, would it be a good idea to take those as well before the AP exams or maybe after? A score of 48 on the CLEP would give me chemistry credit and a score of 65 and superior performance on an essay would give me all the english credit I need.

Stats that may help:
30 ACT sub scores 27, 28 (before I self taught myself pre-cal), 34, 31
4 APUS 4 AP enviro (self study) 3 AP bio (self study)
I'm a slightly above average essay writer compared to those in my school's advanced program, so probably slightly below average compared to most of the CC users here.

Thank you guys again!

It looks like you can pull off both English exams, but with a schedule like that self-studying AP Chem will be overkill.

Take a look at the AP Chem material and see how much (if anything) was covered in your advanced chemistry class. If you already learned the majority of it, then you can probably get that 3. If not, then your best bet is to ditch AP Chem, as that would be a huge burden.

If you’re taking AP lit, then I would think you would be able to self-study AP Language. Those two classes intertwine a bit. You would be able to study the multiple choice, through textbooks. The only thing that might be difficult about self-studying ap Lang is that you have to perfect your essays. I’m self-studying language and what I plan to do is write SA’s based on the criteria written in the AP textbooks, and get my english to to edit the sa’s and give me feedback. I think your literature teacher will be able to help with that. Or you could self-study lit and take language if you’re really not that great on essays but I don’t know exactly how hard it would be to self-study ap lit so I would research on that. Then I would replace language with AP Chem, I think you might get a 3 in that test, like you did in Bio, if you self studied. But if you want a higher grade, I would recommend taking the class and doing their labs, as they have a lot of labs. And if you really wanted it, self study harder to get that 4 on the ap bio exam. Now that you’ve already taken the exam, you know what you need help with, what you didn’t understand, and what labs you might have to do in order to understand AP bio test better. I’m sure if you need help with something, from your school’s AP Bio teacher. My bio teacher let’s us email her with questions. Clep: Take after AP’s if you want. But I would just focus on AP’s first.

Thank you for the advice guys. I’ve decided to try to self study AP Chem and AP English language.

I’m definitely not going to take the AP English language class, because after talking to some of my friends they didn’t believe the teacher adequately prepared them for the test.

I’d also love to take take AP Chem instead, but AP chem would replace both AP Gov and both of my economics classes (our teacher requires that we take both); furthermore, last year (I’m unsure about this year) our school only had one passing score in AP chem (a 3). I don’t think it’d be worth replacing two classes, that the teacher has a high 3/4/5 rate, with one that’d I’d have to self study in addition to the class, in order to pass the exam.

Thank you again for the advice guys! Now to decide what to do with my free class; I would take a 3rd p.e. type class, but I was informed recently that our school only allows you to be in two.
