Hello, I am currently attending a university I moved 3 hours away to attend I have a small child. And quit my job and left a lot of family behind to attend this school for my dream of being a nurse. Too keep it short everything seemed to be working on with attending here, but soon after I lost my job here and my apartment I have to leave due to bug infestation from the previous people. So now I am living with some relatives about 1 1/2 hours away from my school, they don’t want us here longer than next week. My withdrawal date is this Friday, so I want to leave and move back home where my child can not be in a horrible position, but I am scared I won’t be able to get into any other schools at home. I will feel like a failure for quitting, but I am trying to think about my child’s life too. Do I figure it out here or move home?? I feel I will regret it.
My daughter had to withdraw her second semester of freshman year for severe anxiety and depression. Her first semester was a 2.44. Not great. Second was all w’s. She was able to transfer to the uni very close to us where she could live at home. The new uni does not have the major here from freshman uni, so as for major classes, she started over. She busted it the next two semesters to get into business school and made a 3.8 for the year. Invited to honors college and on Dean list. This summer late, changed her major to nursing. Has a year of pre req to take and will apply in June for Spring 2019. It’s where she’s meant to be. It means she won’t graduate college when most of her friends will but she’s stopped worrying about that. Sometimes the path we need to be on isn’t a strait line getting there.
If you move home, is there a uni you can commute to for nursing? I also know some uni’s have online programs. UT Arlington is one. A good friend of mine had a sister go through this program online.
Good luck to you.
