Im always hearing about how bad a communications degree is. Of course I'm hearing it from people that think that the only professions in the world are for medicine students. Anyways I was thinking if A career in communications is bad if you just get a degree? Or if it's bad even if you major on something else?

What is “a career in communications”? Communications isn’t a type of job; a communication degree is not a technical degree which will qualify you to work in the field of communications. If you want to major in something, you need to do a lot more research into what the major is and what you can do with it.

I know a couple of persons with communications degrees and both went into marketing and advertising careers which seems to be an emphasis you can pursue in the major. Thus, I would not view it as a useless major and it probably is more lucrative for job purposes than majors like history, English and the like.
