Ok so I am currently enrolled in AP Biology as a sophomore, which is the only ap class offered for a sophomore at my school, and its only the first term but I currently have a C in the class, I am worried about this becuase I have never gotten a C before, last year I had all A’s and was taking all honors core classes, this year I am doing ok so far, I have a C in Bio and a B in honors alegbra 2 and the rest A’s, taking 5 honors and 1 ap class. I know I am young and it’s still early but do you think that if my grades continues to be a C, it will effects my accseptane into colleges? I had hoped of going to Holy Cross, would they rule me out becuase of this C? Thanks for the help
You’re putting too much pressure on yourself. Your immediate goal is to meet w/your bio teacher and get hints/advice/guidance on how to improve your current standing.
Have you done this? If not, you really need to do whatever it takes to get the courage/humility to go and ask for help. I’m 100% serious.
You’re 6 weeks into your soph year of HS. You DO NOT need to be monitoring your GPA in such a fashion because of what it might mean for you later on. You’re there to learn and grow academically. Everything else will take care of itself. Good luck
Thank you, I have spoken with her a lot I stay after school at least acouple times a week with her to study for tests and do lab reports but it just doesn’t seem to be helping, I guess I am being alittle harsh lol but I’m worried if I continue to do poorly in this class it will effect me later
Absolutely agree with focusing on doing well in the course. Work hard, meet with your teacher, and develop a relationship. Put in as much effort as you can and if possible speak to your guidance counselor about it, as if you do end up doing poorly they could mention it in their rec.
I have some friends who are getting rec letters from teachers in classes they did poorly in, simply because the teacher grew to admire their work ethic and wanted to see them succeed.
Best of luck!
