Well, I got into a bit of trouble in my school's dormitory last spring (top 10 school). They basically made me take a leave of absence, withdraw from my classes, and move off the campus. They said that I might be able to come back next fall if I follow their guidelines, but they made no promises. Anyway, I am wondering if I should try to transfer to another ivy or top school now or wait a little bit and see if the school lets me back in. How likely would transferring to another top school be given my situation? The event happened during the Spring of my freshman year, so I have really only completed one semester of coursework. My grades were ok, 3.5 gpa.

any thoughts?

I think the input you received on the Parent’s forum is sound. Whether or not a transfer school will even consider you will likely depend on the answers on the College Official’s Report forum about your academic standing and disciplinary violations.
