Need an easy elective because of an already difficult first semester

Can somebody help me find an easy 3 credit course for fall? I am already taking chemistry and biology this semester as a pre-med student and need a class to lighten up my schedule. I found THE2000 (intro to theatre for non-majors) and was wondering if this would be a good option. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

This will depend on what you are interested in.

If you haven’t finished off all of your liberal studies requirements, I have found that the Humanities courses (especially the online ones) are really easy.

From history the intro theatre class has not been heavy lifting.

Ok i signed up for theatre and now i have a total of 16 credits for fall. Does this look like a good/too easy/too difficult first semester?

General Chem 1 (3)
General Chem 1 Lab (1)
Biology 1 (3) (tested out of bio lab)
Ancient Mythology (3)
Intro to Stats (3)
Intro to Theatre (3)

Remember I am pre-med, and my guidance counselor told me to double up on sciences this semester.

I think it looks good. Two sciences will be a challenge but the rest of the courses will even it out.

I am pre-med as well and if you want to do well you will have to take 2 science courses at least every semester. I also took ancient myth and my TA was awsome so i enjoyed it (most likely for ancient myth you will get a TA/ grad student)

My D took ancient myth also and loved it and it was not a “hard” course.

Ancient Myth isn’t hard at all.

It’s up there with Intro to Statistics as one of the easiest classes I’ve ever taken at FSU.

multicultural film was pretty easy for my son and he actually enjoyed it

How can you take Bio 1 and Chem 1 together I thought Chem 1 was a prerequisite for Bio… ? Although by far easiest electives I would go with Oceanography OCE1001 and CGS2100 if you are good with computers( real computers not that overpriced apple nonsense )

You can take Chem I before or at the same time. It is a prerequisite or a corequisite. Do you have Kearley for Chem I?

Yes i have Kearley for Chem 1 and Epstein for Bio 1.

By the way, thank you everyone, this has helped a lot!

Kearley is ONE TOUGH PROF. At least he was for Chem II and Orgo. Perhaps he will go easier with Chem I. Be prepared to work you ars off. When you get there, talk to students about his tests. They don’t often follow his practice problems or the book. Get to know how he tests. And after the first test if you are frustrated, visit him during office hours. Get to know him via office hours. It can help tremendously. He honestly is there for students, and will help during office hours. Visit the TA chem room for help, there is a grad student there every day all day, They rotate hours but the room is covered. Students either love or hate him.

how is Dillon? I have her both for chem 1 and lab.

I have Dilon for my lab also. And thank you sunnyflorida, I’ll keep that in mind and definitely go to his office hours.

For lab you will have a TA, Dillon oversees all of the labs, but there are multiple labs running simultaneously. Her name is pretty much on all labs, every labs, but your TA will run the lab. Lab is an A if you just do the prelab work and lab work and lab reports etc.

Dillon should be fine for Chem I. No one is easy. But Kearley is just, well, Kearley.

While folks are asking: anyone know anything about Rasha Hamdan as a chemistry instructor? I’ve got her fall term for Chem II/1046. She must be a graduate assistant, I didn’t find her in Rate my Professors, nor SUSSAI. Thanks.

Epstein’s voice is enough to put someone to sleep that has just chugged 12 energy drinks. 3 exams and the final is not cumulative

Hamdan is a final year PhD student or a postdoc.
