The average aid of WUSTL for intl. students is around half the total costs. What are the chances of an intl student receiving upto 90% need based scolarship? Does it happen often?Does anyone know intl students who have received upto 80% or more aid? HELP!

Help!! What Is The Max Need Based Aid Given By Wustl? Any Idea?

are you talking about need-based scholarships, or need-based aid in general? Washu claims to meet 100% of your financial need - but this is obviously what they determine to be your need, and this can include massive loans. I'm really not sure though about need-based scholarships specifically...

was talking abt need based aid...so if Wash U says they meet an applicant's 100% need and i really do have need ( i am an international student from a low income family), they can give me upto 90% need based aid?
Also, does the univ flood even international students with loans? federal aid is not possible for us.

sorry, I don't know much about the situation for international students. I only really know that they advertise the fact that they meet the projected need... It sounds like this is an important factor in your decision, so contacting the financial aid office is probably a good idea - at least to get an idea of what types of aid are available.

i did..and damn, those guys can be diplomatic; similar replies to my friends...anyway, hopefully other inlt students will benefit from this as well, its as much as i could get outta the admission ppl

Thank you for your interest in Washington University in St. Louis.
We are fortunate to offer need-based financial assistance to international students. Our awards are renewable for all four years, and we work very closely with all of our students to make the best package we can. As you know, International Students are unable to recieve federal aid, so this makes our job tougher. However, we do the best we can in terms of allotting grant money to International Students. There is no average package, and we have no maximum or minimum that we award. We do everything on a case-by-case basis.

It is a great idea to also look into our scholarships opportunities. Our merit-based scholarships are all listed on our website: admissions.wustl.edu. You can find them under "Scholarships and Financial Assistance." There you will find not only details on the nature of each scholarship and the amount it is for, but also the manner in which to apply for them. International Students are welcome to apply for all of these.
