So this is my school list right now, I'm a rising junior. Question is, for which of these campuses is a car not a necessity? I would rather longboard from place to place. Also in which of these schools would it be possible for me to go snowboarding a lot? (Seems like Colorado and Michigan would fit this, not sure though)

Cal Poly SU San Luis Obispo
Georgia Tech
Purdue U
U Calif Berkeley
U Calif Davis
U Calif Irvine
U Calif Los Angeles
U Calif San Diego
U Colorado Boulder
U Illinois Urbana Champaign
U Michigan

(My planned major is Aerospace engineering)

Purdue is definetly a walkable campus and an awseome school without much need for a car, but not much snowboarding since Indiana is wicked flat. U Mich is also nice, a lot to do right in Ann Arbor, but again not much snow boarding that I can think of. If i were you I would consider some schools on the east coast, i know University of Vermont has a lot to offer and we have great mountians in NE

I have a car and a longboard at Uillinois. Car really has no use except for going offcampus to see a movie or to go to the grocery store. Campus is rlly large but still compact enough to get anywhere you need on the longboard. Unfortunately, lack of hills makes longboarding less fun, but its still a nice way to get around and get to class in 2 minutes.

UMich has a completely separate campus for its engineering school, most students take a 3 min bus ride to get there, but I think a car would be incredible useful in this situation. As long as theres parking on the second campus, youre golden.

The only snowboarding available for anyone in Illinois is a smaller resort on the border between wisconsin and illinois, but Ive heard it isnt that great.
Those are the only 2 schools I actually know about on your list.

At Georgia Tech you probably wouldn’t need a car that much but you could never snowboard, sorry.

Thanks for the replies. Theres not much schools in the east coast that have good aerospace engineering programs; seems like most are in the middle of the US.

Seems like its hard to get a good aerospace program with snowboarding!

Oh and how realistic would it be to go snowboarding often while attending a SoCal school, such as UCLA or UCSD? Would it probably be not often?
