Need college advise!

<p>Hey guys! I am in a pretty difficult situation, and I need some help. I want to go into aerospace engineering, but I understand that I can work in the same fields with other engineering degrees like mechanical or electrical.</p>

<p>My school's college counselors know very little about engineering, which is why I need some help. My family is in a very rough financial situation, and thus, financial aid is very important.</p>

<p>I have been admitted to:
Mizzou - I live in missouri so this is basically free
University of Tulsa - offering a very generous scholarship
Purdue - impossible to attend due to little financial aid
Miami FL - decent scholarship but not sure about the engineering school's quality
Case Western - smaller scholarship, but we MIGHT be able to make it work</p>

<p>I was wait listed at Lehigh and Vanderbilt.</p>

<p>My first choice was USC, since they have a good aero program, they meet 100% of demonstrated financial need, and their great location (and the fact that I absolutely loved the school) but unfortunately I was not accepted.</p>

<p>Right now, I'm trying to decide between going to Tulsa with the intention of transferring, or trying to make Case western work. Any input?</p>

<p>Logic dictates that you attend the “basically free” engineering program at Mizzoo. They have a mechanical/aerospace engineering program so what’s the issue?</p>

<p>I’m really not trying to sound like an elitist here, because mizzou is a great school. But from what my college counselors have told me, I will get a much better education at one of my other choices.</p>

<p>More than likely, if your counselors were anything like mine and everyone else I know, they are clueless when it comes to engineering. What matters is: A) Are they ABET Accredited? B)Do they have good recruiting?. If they have those two checked off, then go…because debt sucks…a lot.</p>
