Need Harvard College Interview Advice

Hi. I'm having a Harvard College Interview this Saturday.

Any advice???

My interviewer is an alumni, living in my town. 5minutes from where I live.

Try going over some practice questions with your parents so that you have answers and will appear prepared and confident. Take a deep breath and don't get so tense that you just babble on and on and on and on.... Confidence is big, but don't appear over-confident; you don't want the interviewer to feel uncomfortable. Don't treat it like the world will end if something adverse happens.

I know it can be really hard, but if you are confident and relaxed, it will go a long way. Practice can help with this. Good luck!

Dress nicely. No sneakers. No flipflops.

Shake his hand firmly, look him in the eye, and introduce yourself clearly. Say your full name.

Make sure your cell phone is turned off.

Don't be afraid to say you don't know the answer to a question.

Give him the opportunity to persuade you to go to Harvard--ask him some questions about his own experience there.

My french teacher tells us that for interviews, if you bring a folder (but don't put anything in the folder, just bring one), it makes you look really cool, and it makes you look like you know your stuff.

Then we asked "what if they ask you what's in the folder?"

And he said that they never ask what's in the folder. :)
