I've been deciding whether or not to take this incredibly challenging class with a very heavy workload. It is that time of year that I apply for classes and was wondering if it is recommended that I take this class.

So far, I have:

Class - First Semester/Second Semester

Freshmen
English I H - A/A
Algebra II H - A/A
Spanish I - A-/A-
Biology H - A-/B+
Health/Tech - A/A
PE - A/A

Sophmore
English II H - A/A
Pre-Calculus H - A/A
Spanish II H - A/A
AP European History - A/A
AP Physics B - B-/B-
PE - A/A

Junior
AP Calculus A/B
AP US History
AP Statistics
AP Biology
- English III H?
Spanish III H

Senior
AP Economics/Government
AP Psychology
AP Calculus B/C (maybe)

- English IV H?

-

I will be a Junior in fall and wondering if taking AP Language and Composition or English III H will make a big difference on my college applications.

Also, what classes should I take during my Senior year?

The colleges I'm aiming for are the UC's but more specifically UCB and UCLA.

Calculus AB and BC are so redundant. I have no idea why people take both instead of just BC. Maybe because I'm a Texas guy and I have a different opinion. Here, we just take BC OR AB, never both.

Also, how did you take AP Physics w/o Calculus? Isn't AP Physics all Calculus based formulas?

Hm, Stats should be easy but APUSH and AP Bio are both very reading-intensive. Adding AP Lang would be even MORE reading/writing (more writing, though). English 3 H is still an honors course, so it probably wouldn't make THAT big of a difference. There are also SATs to worry about, and the usual extracurriculars..

If your are a HYPS person, take the AP Eng Lang class Junior year. Take either AP Chem or AP Physics C senior year. Also take AP Eng Lit and AP Spanish Language, if you feel ready for them in Senior year.

That would be plenty competitive. If you have an extra class, take something fun. Like AP or honors art or something.
