Need help deciding where to transfer and chances

I am a NYS community college student with a 3.611 GPA in an honors program. By the end of this semester, I think I will have somewhere between a 3.6-3.75. I am a member of 5 clubs on campus and will be doing 45 hours of volunteering next month. I work part-time as well. I want to major in Finance.

Now I am having trouble deciding where to transfer. My family would like me to go in-state to save money. Right now I am looking at Cornell ILR, SUNY University at Buffalo, SUNY Albany, SUNY Binghamton, and Rutger’s University.

Cornell ILR and Binghamton SOM are very competitive and I don’t think I will be getting in. My high school grades were not good and I will not be submitting SAT scores too.

SUNY Albany doesn’t have the best reputation but it is an two hours away from home while Buffalo is seven hours away. Distance isn’t the biggest issue but it would be nice to come home for two weekends a semester or just to see my family.

Rutger’s University is out-of-state but they have a very reputable business school.

What are your suggestions on these problems? Also, if you can give me some other colleges to consider, that would be great. Thank you.

Our California daughter LOVED SUNY Buffalo!!!
She did engineering.

Will you be transferring as a Sophomore or a Junior? If the latter, you probably won’t have to provide high school grades or test scores for most of the schools you mention. Your choices seem very reasonable. Rutgers will be more expensive but the in-state schools are a good range and you should bet into several of them so you can choose which one has the best program and most reasonable overall cost. After that, you need to decide is going a bit farther away for a better fit program is worth the travel time back home.
