Hello all-

I have attended 2 community colleges, 1 right out of high school in WA on and off where I earned equal parts B's and F's. A GPA nightmare (2.06 cum GPA). Several years later I attended another cc here in CA where I have completed 50 semester units with a 3.7 GPA. Many of the courses I have taken at my new cc are repeats on the classes I failed at previous cc. I am trying to figure what my cumulative GPA will be so I can determine where I fall in admission requirements and admission specs to see what schools will be reach, match, and safety for transfer. I have also failed but retaken 2 courses at current cc and earned A's on retake.

It is not clear to me if when evaluating my previous coursework universities will 1) replace the original F's at old cc w/grades at new cc or count both 2) replace original F's at current cc w/grades when retaken at same cc, or again count both.

Because there are so many F's in my old cc transcript, how the colleges count these will make a huge difference in my GPA to the point where I may not even be eligible for some. I will only be applying to UC's and CSU's w/chemical engineering majors available. Please let me now if you need more info to help answer this question. Thanks!

note: I have tried to get an academic renewal from previous cc, but I would have to fly up there, enroll in an online class and pass it, and then apply for the renewal as previous students are not eligible for renewal. I know many uni's do not honor academic renewal anyway, so I have not pursued this option.
