Hi, I would like to know what I can do to improve my chances of getting into a BS/MD program.

I am a sophomore (will be junior for 2012-2013 school year)

Here are my stats:

ACT: 33
GPA: 4.0 unweighted
Class Rank: 1

APs Next Year: Chemistry, Biology, US History, English Language and Compositon (I expect a 5 in all except possibly English, in which case would be a 4)

APs Senior Year: Calculus, Physics, Anatomy, English Literature and Composition, Statistics

ECs: Science Olympiad, Bowling Team, Bowling League, Spanish Club, Various Volunteering at many places (e.g. Caroling, Environmental Clean Ups, etc.)

ECs Next Year (These are not allowed prior to junior year): NHS, Beta Club, in addition to the one's stated above

I have volunteered at the local hospital and shadowed many doctors.

I come from a very poor and rural Kentucky area if that affects anything. 3 school districts within 30 minutes of me have been ranked in the top 10 poorest school systems in the nation.

I hope to get into the University of Kentucky's Program, however, I am open to other possibilities.

I am a very independent learner and willing to do hard work to achieve my goals. If you could please help me out and tell me anything I could work on or what I need to do in addition, I would very much appreciate it.

Thank you.
