Need help from Tanglewood Alum

Momnipotent - I laughed too when DD told me. I really hope she eats the powerbars though :)

Hi thenosam,
Until this year we never had accessibility issues for YAO or YAWE concerts, but this year, we had problems. In the evening concert, they changed their parking policy to not allow us to park in the lots near the Ozawa. We were told to walk from the main parking lot, not a problem at all for us, but we had almost brought my wheelchair-bound father-in-law and he wouldn't have been able to make it! They said there were people available in golf carts to give rides, but as we were carrying back our sleeping younger child after the concert, the golf carts passed without ever stopping to offer us a lift, despite our attempts to flag one down. Day concerts can be a different matter, depending on whether there is another concert at the Shed around the same time.

To be perfectly honest, the new restrictions were a surprise to the administration as well as those of us that had attended in earlier years. I discussed this very issue with them and they told me they were going to try to work with Tanglewood so that there would be access at the final concerts. They were not sure how it would turn out, but they were hopeful. If I were you, I'd call BUTI directly and speak to Shirley Leiphon or David Faleris, the BUTI Adminsitrative Director and Associate Director. If you can work out some arrangement with them ahead, it might give you peace of mind.
