Need Help, I don't know what College/ University to go to with a good ROTC program

Hey guys. I am in a bit of a problem here, I have no idea what to do with my life after high school. Alright, maybe I do have a small idea but I do not not what college/university to go to. I love computers and math I was thinking in maybe majoring in Computer Science and or computer engineering. The problem is that I also want to do ROTC and join the Army so what do you think would be the best school for me? And what should I do to get a ROTC scholarship? Or any scholarship? What would be the best university or college that I should go to that has both a nice ROTC program and a nice computer science/ computer engineering program?

My GPA so far, if I get good grades on my midterms that I am taking this week, should be in the 4.5 range (weighted). (I am a junior)
I am taken honors and AP classes. I got a 4 on the AP Spanish test last year and currently I am taking AP English Language and Composition, AP Chemistry, and AP US history. Next year I am hoping to take AP Calculus BC, AP macroeconomics, AP government, AP Physics, AP English literature and possibly take AP computer science online over the summer. I also have been in JROTC so far for 3 years and I am Company XO, and hopefully next year I will be on staff. I am going to take my SAT and ACT pretty soon so I do not have my scores yet. If you guys need any more information about me that will help please ask. I also have a lot of community service hours, but I do not know the exact numbers but I will get a JUMs report soon and I will be able to find out. I am thinking it is past the 100 hour range. Please and thank you for any help. I am extremely scared about my future and any help that I will be able to receive will be fantastic

Take a look at Virginia Tech and their Corp of Cadets. [Corps of Cadets | Virginia Tech](http://www.vtcc.vt.edu/) The Corp is unique in that it provides outstanding military training and education while being part of a large state university. I believe that scholarships are available to all cadets. Virginia Tech is a beautiful campus with terrific school spirit. Go Hokies.

Ill take a look, thank you :)

My S had a great experience at NC State Univ. He was in Navy ROTC but NCSU also has large Army and Air Force ROTC units as well. S did a weekend trip to North Georgia during his junior yr. I believe it was called National Leadership Challenge or something like that.
NGCSU has a very strong ROTC program but prob. not the academics that you’re looking for.

We just went to a school to look at its ROTC program. When you are considering schools, include talking to the ROTC professor of military science or one of the other officers at each school. It is nice to attend a school where the school and its community are military friendly. It is also nice to have a school where the cadets live together. That way, when you are getting up at 0-dark-early, so is everyone else. You also might like to see where they train. Some have wonderful outdoor state parks where they train and others train in the gym. We looked at OHio University in Athens, which also has very nice merit (not related toROTC) scholarships. The other thing you want to ask about is how well the ROTC unit does at summer training programs.

Good luck.

Texas A&M also has a Corp of Cadets like VA Tech. In addition, you can get in-state tuition through the Corps if you don’t have a ROTC scholarship. You should look at both.

Might I also suggest that you join [United States of America Service Academy Forums - Powered by vBulletin](http://www.serviceacademyforums.com) There is a TON of information there about each of the service academies and a special section devoted to “private and public senior military colleges and universities”. Everything you could EVER want to know is there and the Mods are very involved. Good luck to you! Our son is a freshman at VT and in the Corp and AFROTC. He LOVES it and so do his mom and dad! Go Hokies!
