Need Help on American

I have three MC questions that I need some help with. Can you also just explain why you think that's the answer. Thanks.

The American home front in the Second World War is best described as

A. politically divided over the wisdom of the American war efforts
B. unaffected by ethnic and racial tensions
C. economically invigorated by military spendings
D. rededicated to the reforms of the New Deal
E. demoralized by food shortages

All of the following contributed to discontent among soldiers in the Continental Army EXCEPT:

A. Most soldiers were draftees
B. The soldiers feared for the welfare of families back home
C. The army had inadequate arms and ammunition
D. The army paid soldiers in depreciated paper money
E. The army was inadequately fed and clothed

In his Atlanta Compromise speech, Booker T. Washington called for which of the following?

A. African American voting rights
B. An end to racial segregation
C. Support for African American self help
D. Educational equality for African Americans
E. Racial integration of religious organization

I took APUSH last year, so it's been a little while:

1) 1 is c. They were not divided over the war effort, they were affected by racial tensions, the New Deal was the depression, and while there were food shorages, it's not the best way to describe the home front.

2) I believe it's A, since I don't think the army was made up of draftees. And all the other options are true.

3) I say c, since I know Washington wanted blacks to help themselves.

Thanks

I agree with all your answers Dahe except the third one. I think the answer is educational equality. Can anyone confirm?

No, I actually just checked my answer and it is right I believe.

Does your textbook have info on it?

i think it was WEB Dubois who wanted educational equality, not Booker T Washington.

booker t. washington wanted economic and educational equality before desegregation, dubois disagreed and wanted desegregation immediately

i just remember that Booker T Washington was president of the Tuskegee Institute and he taught mostly agricultural stuff there, which wasn't equal to what was taught at white colleges. also the question specifically asked about the Atlanta Compromise speech, which was about labor if i remember correctly. i think he said to hire black people rather than immigrants, so it sounds like C to me.

All right. Sounds good enough. Thanks for the help everyone :)
