Need help on what can I write for a college essay prompt?

<p>Hello everyone, I am a junior in texas. I plan on applying to UT and A&M and maybe ut arlington. I want to major in aerospace engineering. </p>

<p>On the first essay that im required to write the prompt says :
Write an essay in which you tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you.</p>

<p>well personally for me no one person has had an impact on me but alot of ppl have had an impact on me. no major positive impacts from just one person. Only two ppl had a major impact on me. My mom and my dad (shockingly). My mom and my dad werent great parents though they actually were pretty close to being horrible but not really on purpose. But from both experiences i used it to shape the character i am today.
both of them had their pros and cons.</p>

<p>so i was wondering if i should write about them and if i do ill have to kinda summarize my life in the essay. should i write about one of them? if so which one? and should i summarize how they impacted my life or just one part of my character????</p>

<p>Usually, smaller, focused topics make better essays. I’d pick one of them and discuss how he or she impacted your character.</p>

<p>Just make sure it’s about you and not about mom or dad. This shouldn’t be an opinion piece about the quality of parenting you’ve had.</p>

i also was wondering about the second one too.
It says to
Choose an issue of importance to you—the issue could be personal, school related, local, political, or international in scope—and write an essay in which you explain the significance of that issue to yourself, your family, your community, or your generation.</p>

<p>On this i was thinking about writing about what is my motivation in life and how I discovered this motivation.</p>

<p>Would that be something i could write about for the 2nd essay?</p>
