Need Help!! Please Advise on SAT/ACT Issue

I have a sort of a situation before me in regards to taking the college admissions tests and I need to make up my mind quickly.

I took the old SAT in high school and received a very low score (this was about a few months after I just came to the U.S.). I've graduated from high school almost two years ago and I'm about to apply to college very soon.

Now, in order to apply, I need to either retake the SAT, take the ACT, or take both. I'm confident that I can do well on the New SAT (May 6th), but the thing that frightens me about the SAT is that the CollegeBoard will send my old, horrible score as well. I'm rather sure that I can do well on SAT Subject Tests too (June 3rd, I think). I can take the ACT (June 10th), but I am not sure if I can do as well on it as on the SAT, since the format of that test seems horrid for me (especially English), but who knows. I haven't actually studied for it yet. Or I can take everything: study for the SAT and take it May6th, study one month for SAT Subject Tests and the ACT, and take them all in June.

Also, would sending in (in addition to everything) a high TOEFL score help in terms of maximizing chances?

What do you think would be the best possible choice considering this time frame:

SAT -- May 6th
2 or 3 SAT Subject Tests -- June 3rd
ACT -- June 10th

Maybe TOEFL later in the summer if it's offered then.

I need to decide on this ASAP as I have to start studying hardcore.

Sorry for the lengthy post. I appreciate everyone's opinions.

Hi -- Why don't you take a sample test for both the SAT and the ACT and see how you do on each one? With the SAT, every SAT you've taken within a period of years (not sure how many) will be sent -- SAT I's, II's, and all sittings. With the ACT, on the other hand, you only have to send the results you want to send. Therefore, if you decided to study for and take the SAT again, you could still sit for the ACT and if you didn't like the score, no one would have to know about it.

Thanks for the post. By saying that all the SATs are sent, are you hinting that colleges might take into consideration my old low SAT score. They're not supposed to, are they?
