Need Help, Please..ANYONEEEEE THAT ATTENDS, OR KNOWs HOW JHU IS...

Hello,
i have recently applied to JHU, and I am not at all worried about getting in at ALL, (if i do great, if not o well)...

but in caseee if i do, heres my problem... I am transfering from a community college with an associates in Business with 60credits and my gpa is a 3.7 ...

i am applying to the Carey undergarduate school of business.. Since i started college at the community college that i attend my gpa has depended on RATEMYPROFESSOR.COM....

buttt, i was looking at the course descriptions and tried searching a few professors that teach on RMP and could not even find one?!

am i the only one that depends so much on getting a good teacher?..not an easy one but one that takes students hard work into consideration?

Do JHU students even use RMP? or just take classes without looking up the professor ahead of time?

Just FYI, you’re probably not going to get useful answers on this message board since it’s mostly focused on the full time undergrad programs (School of Arts and Sciences, and School of Engineering)

Students look (and post) on RMP but it’s not the deciding factor when registering for classes. Like if someone has one semester to take a class that they need, but the professor isn’t that grade, the student doesn’t have much of a choice. I look at ratings ahead of time but I make my own judgments.

Tnx for the feedbacks!..

Just another question for the last comment…

so you mentioned that rmp its not the deciding factor, how do you make sure you get a good teacher? i feel like some professor are imposible, but there are some that work with students if they see the students hard work?

(or since its a private institution, are most professors approachable about grades, and willing to help?)

thanks again!

Not sure about Carey, but Hopkins undergrad has the ACE guide, which is really useful for picking classes and professors. It’s basically a compilation of surveys that every student takes on the last lecture day of their classes.

I’ve found the professors very helpful and approachable.

Thanks bluejay, that really helped!

do you know where i can find the Ace guide? or if you have the link, so that i can search some professors from the business school

The results would be here [Teacher Course Evaluations](http://www.jhu.edu/merlin/) but it’s only for KSAS and WSE.

would there be such a thing for the school of undergraduate business carey)?

Carey is primarily a graduate school–although it does have a program for adults with significant undergraduate credits but no degree to complete an undergraduate degree in business. It is not an ordinary undergraduate program and really can’t be compared to the undergraduate programs (KSAS and WSE) at Homewood.

As Carey moves away from part-time programs toward full-time MBA programs beginning next year, I would not be surprised if the current undergraduate degree completion program gets phased out. I think the plan is for Carey to become a major player in the full-time MBA arena.
