UPDATE: I called, and after talking to 2 undergraduate admissions people who basically told me all this hooha about space, how there’s nothing that can be done, I finally found an undergraduate admissions person who actually confirmed the deadline is typically 2 weeks after acceptance. So, no, the 4-5 days deadline is not feasible at all.

I ended up getting an extension until May 10. Just remember don’t forget to question the problem. I talked to one person who was nice and tried to put me into contact with an Associate Director of Admissions. She was taking too long, so I called again. Then another woman got on the phone, and I explained to her what happened. Also that my appeal letter was shipped overnight and is there with the $300 deposit. She said that space had to be assessed and basically it was very possible I lost my spot. So I asked to talk to someone else.

Finally, I found a guy who was very polite and seemed extremely mature and well endowed on the policies of U-M. He pretty much said that the deadline was extremely short. So he extended the deadline because usually you’re allowed two weeks to make payment after admittance. It only took two seconds, and basically with the flick of a switch it seemed, which then I was finally allowed to pay my deposit at wolverine access.

So for anyone wondering from now on, this will be on record at CC. Because it was very tough to find anyone who had the same problem as me. Usually admittance letters come after May 1 if they are close to the deadline, and apparently (from my efforts of searching for others who had the same exact problem) very rarely do they come so close to the deadline.
