Need help please

Ok so I've been all over posts here and am just going to put it all together as one. I'm a second semester engineering major at Penn State. I've applied for transfers to Duke, UT Austin, and USC. I really want to get into USC. Got a 3.65 first semester with 16 creds. Taking 18 now. An internet submission problem resulted in a zero on my first essay in English. I have plenty of evidence that it was done but he won't accept it. Thinking of dropping it and getting a WN (withdraw no grade). This will drop me to 15 creds and I will take the class online over summer. Will this hurt my chances? I feel like I'm already on the border for USC. And I can't finish the USC english requirements until fourth semester at Penn State. Any advice?

well don’t you need the instructors approval to drop now? is there a way to pass the class if you stay? if not then i would drop

I could probably still pass with a c. But I’d rather retake this summer for an A or high B.

Bump anyone?

Yes, drop it.

You’re being really ambitious trying this after a single semester. Your best bet is probably going to be as a junior transfer.

Yeah that’s what I’m gonna do. If USC requests spring grades I’ll write a letter with the grades explaining how I’m taking it over the summer. Good idea?
